If you've ever wonder what it's like to teach English in Korea, then you've come to the right place! Teaching in Korea provides for a very rewarding experience. In most cases, the curriculum and materials are supplied for you and you’ll make lesson plans based on what is given to you. The amount of freedom that you have in developing your own materials varies from school to school.
Typically, the foreign teacher’s role is to expose students to real life conversation in English. By interacting with you, they learn to understand and gain a working knowledge of the language.

Native English teachers are typically responsible for making lesson plans and activities for each class held. Additional duties include grading assignments and teaching on the phone. The length of each class varies, but on average native English teachers have between 25-30 teaching hours per week.
Basically, teaching English in Korea is not as demanding as a teaching job in the west, however your school will have basic expectations of you. As long as you follow instructions, you will be fine!
