Food in Korea

Koreans have their own varieties of food that work well with the diets of most westerners. Koreans enjoy spicy food in general, though it’s usually easy to order mild versions of most spicy food. Also, Koreans tend to eat healthier food, including more fruits and vegetables with suits vegetarians well. Korean food often contains meat, usually pork or fish. Fishing is very popular in Korea, which makes seafood a common part of the Korean diet.

Kimchi

Other than Korean food, more urban areas serve western brands, including everything from candy bars to popular chain restaurants. So, if you find that you dislike Korean cuisine, more than likely you will be able to get by without needing to depend on it. There are all sorts of restaurants that serve Western-style food, such as Burger King, Outback Steakhouse, TGI Fridays, etc. Chicken and pizza are also popular among foreigners and Koreans alike.

In the cities, you’ll also be able to find restaurants that specialize in food from other countries. There are many restaurants that serve Chinese, Japanese, Indian, Thai, etc.



Weather in Korea

The Korean peninsula has four distinct seasons and is located in the Northern Hemisphere. Summer tends to be hot along with high humidity. During this season, high temperatures hit above 90 °F (33 °C). Rainfall is most common in July, which averages about 14 inches of precipitation. In contrast, winters can be very cold. In Korea, it can snow during the winter. As a result, it is necessary to have proper clothes for the changes in weather. But don't worry if you don't already have them, Korea is famous for its vast shopping malls and markets.
